Michael Reckord

A 1991 graduate from Texas Tech University, Mike first stepped into the world of sports administration when, as part of the sports and recreation staff, he trained over 300 basketball officials. After graduating from T.T.U., Mike gained valuable experience as a technical recruiter in Dallas, Texas before moving east to Atlanta, Georgia three years later. While in Atlanta he became a Regional Director responsible in starting the Atlanta branch, where he led a staff of nearly twenty recruiters and account managers. He then opened a second location in North Atlanta in 2007. In 2000 Michael founded 9RCORP ( HYPERLINK "http://www.9rcorp.com/" www.9rcorp.com ) a basketball officiating company in Atlanta, which quickly grew  to 125 officials who handled games across the region. Michael's administrative skills helped 9RCORP to where it is today - currently one of the largest privately owned sports officiating companies in the Southeast. In 2004 he sold 9RCORP in order to devote his full attention and time to one of his most enjoyable projects –King of Hoops (formally known as The Southern Classic Roundball Invitational- SCRI). Founded in 2002, SCRI started with 10 men’s teams from Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama - as a result of Mike's leadership- steadily grew to more than 30 summer Pro-Am basketball teams ranging from L.A. to New York City- hence the name change to King of Hoops. In 2007 he created Reckord Group, LLC, an international marketing and basketball consulting firm promoting and facilitating basketball events and player interaction across the globe. From 2010 to present he has taken the only team representing the USA to participate in the QUAI 54 (Worldest Greatest Streetball Event ) in Paris France.    Mike and his wife Alicia have worked with companies such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Pepsi, Gatorade, Verizon, Atlanta Hawks, NBA TV and numerous other organizations. Mike currently holds position as COO of The National Basketball Retired Players Association- Atlanta Chapter, he is a member of the 2013 Final Four  Atlanta Hosting Committee and he also sits on the board of community for Positive American Youth, Making the Transition, and he is the former President of the Fair Oaks Youth Basketball League.
